Here's the idea...

...I've been working off and on for the last year or so on an illustrated novel for young adults (think The Invention of Hugo Cabret, but scarier and for a slightly older audience). With all of the projects that I'm already involved in, it's been difficult to keep myself motivated to keep writing and drawing. Then, a friend suggested that I start a blog devoted to the project. This way, I'm accountable to my readers to continue working, and I'll also be able to get feedback on my early drafts and sketches.

I guess fantasy author Brandon Sanderson took a similar approach with his novel Warbreaker. The creators of the film adaptation of Where the Wild Things Are also created a blog where they documented their progress as well as shared interesting art, music and literature that inspired them. So, I'm going to give it a shot. I'll post a chapter every month. I'd love to get questions, comments, criticisms, encouragements, fan mail, whatever. In between posting chapters, I'll also share storyboards, character sketches, and anything else I think is cool. So, tell your friends. It's going to be fun.
